Due to the nature of Umrah, it cannot always be equated to holiday travel.  

Despite meticulous planning, the umrah journey can never be taken for granted like a normal holiday. Hotels, transport and public services are all pushed to their limits during peak times, so do not expect the same level of service that you are accustomed to in the UK. Due to the large number of pilgrims in a small area, the crowds can be overwhelming. Also, due to major traffic congestion, expect very long delays whilst moving from one location to another and waiting for transport to arrive. 

Hotel standards in Saudi Arabia do not always match the standards of hotels in the UK.  Whilst most five star hotels are to a similar standard of their counterparts in the UK, they lack facilities such as swimming pools and leisure clubs. Some four star hotels are akin to their UK counterparts whilst others are inferior.  Most 3 star hotels are inferior to their counterparts in the United Kingdom.
